The room was modern and clean, but the bed felt like sleeping on concrete.

great central area for city parks and walking adventures
I recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be in a fantastic spot, just a few steps away from Colchester Castle Park, where I enjoyed leisurely strolls in the beautiful green space. It was only a 5-minute walk into the town center with plenty of shops and cafes to explore.

Friendly and helpful staff during my stay.
The location was quite remote, necessitating a long walk to the city center and limited nearby shops. My room had a slightly broken toilet seat that was hard to adjust, and after a long day, I discovered stains under the bed sheet, which was absolutely unacceptable. For the amount paid, I felt like I received poor value and a seriously rundown experience.

I thought the breakfast would be good, but it was honestly a disaster. Paying £10 for cold, unappetizing food is beyond me. i almost gave a glowing review until i found my room had a broken bed! You'd think they'd take care of such things for their guests, but i guess i was just too regular for red carpet treatment.

Navigating the parking area was frustrating. spaces were incredibly tight!!! The exterior did not match online photos, creating a misleading first impression!!! hot water was often just not available when needed!!!

Had a blast with friends! The staff was super helpful and free parking made it easy. The bus stops right outside, so we hit the University of Essex and the Zoo in no time. Lovely large room, and plenty of shops nearby for snacks.
Only downside was the lack of extra plug sockets near the bed. It made charging devices a bit tricky.
